Good Monday morning everyone and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  We were given a rather easy puzzle this morning with all of the clue words coming to me instantly.  FLIMSY would be my pick for the more difficult word of the bunch if I had to choose one.  I was able to solve the cartoon without the help of the clue letters which is always a treat.  The cartoon was excellent as usual with the two mimes on stage performing for Penn & Teller.  The angle of the drawing makes you feel as if you’re seated in a dark auditorium just behind P&T with the stage lights focused intently on the act.  The shadowing behind the mimes added a layer of depth and made the cartoon seem even more real.  Penn appears to have a look of surprise on his face while Teller is giving an enthusiastic thumbs up so it looks like they’ll make the cut and move on to the next round.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂

  1. Solved immediately, CWs very easy except WHEAT which took about 30 seconds. Isn’t it funny how one feels so smart sometime and so stupid other days. Well, now I have 24 hours to feel smart! Is the second ‘A’ in GONSAGA pronounced long or short? People in Indiana including the sportscasters use a short ‘A’ but on national networks i.e ESPN use a long ‘A’. C’mon you West coasters!

  2. Hi Mike, hi everyone. Good rainy Monday morning! Real easy puzzle to start the week. I’d choose thorny as the blink of an eye word, only because for that second it didn’t look right. Not a word used very often. Wishing everyone a great day.🙋🏻

    • Angela, I like how you said “blink of an eye word” and might have to borrow that one. Rainy here today as well but I’m not complaining. We need the snow to melt if we’re going to have our annual easter egg hunt outside this year. Enjoy the day! 😊

      but then the R worked its way in.

  3. Good morning. Typical Monday. Both ends were solved in less than thirty seconds. In response to Steves comment about removing the net. I’ll give you the short version. Back in the late 50s , to become a parachute rigger in the Navy you have to jump out of the plane with your own parachute that you packed. If it doesn’t open then your not qualified to become a parachute rigger. till tomorrow stay well.

  4. I had the puzzle and words 2-4 solved in less than 30 seconds. After struggling with the first word for an additional minute, I voiced my frustration to my wife. She looked up from her iPad and gkanced at my paper from across the table (upside down, of course!) and instantly solved wheat! It is definitely Monday!

      Gonzaga is a small Jesuit school in Spokane, WA. Their “sudden” rise to national prominence in college basketball actually began back in 1999! They have been to the Big Dance every year since. Two times to the Elite Eight and now this year the Final Four for the first time ever.

  6. Fun puzzle again this morning. I too was able to solve the cartoon first before attempting the individual words. As a graduate of USF (University of San Francisco) another fine Jesuit institution, we were taught that Gonzaga is pronounced GUN-ZAG-UH. The university is named for St. Aloysius Gonzaga born in Italy to a wealthy family in the 1500’s. He renounced his wealth to enter the Jesuit Seminary dying of bubonic plague at the age of 23. He is the patron saint of Catholic Youth. If Gonzaga wins the championship, perhaps the church will make him the patron saint of college basketball as well. Go Zags!!
