Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY everyone! The first three clue words were solved in heartbeat, but the fourth took some jumbling of my own to figure out. I assumed that ER would be the suffix so BEARER was the only word to make sense. With all of the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon featuring a quaint farm stand scene. I thought it was going to be a difficult solve with part of the solution having quotation marks, however; I was pleasantly surprised to find it rather easy. I found STORE first and figured it had to be part of the solution as there was one in the background that was getting some finishing touches. GROW jumped out at me leaving CERY for the finish to another masterfully crafted pun! Farmer Jack’s reminds me of a farm stand near me that sells the BEST corn in the late summer and fall. I always buy extra when it’s at it’s peak flavor to cook, shuck, freeze and then serve for Thanksgiving dinner. Like you, Mike, the first words were a breeze. Turned the stopwatch off at 4:00 while struggling with bearer. After that I had grow and story, leaving me to ponder cere. Finally it dawned on me to swap the e and the y! Not very quick this morning!

Good morning. Had the words in under two minutes with the last word taking the longest. The cartoon was a problem like John had. Both my friend and i were stuck with an answer that didn’t look right until we too switched the y and e. It’s fun to compare how many people have the same problem. Tomorrow brings a knew one. Good afternoon, Paul! I too enjoy hearing about how people solve these harder puzzles. My technique is to not rush. If I time myself, I work frantically and can’t concentrate thus making silly mistakes. Saturday’s puzzle was a quick solve and I’ll post the answers later tonight after watching the preseason ball game repeat (Phillies at Yanks). Enjoy your day and weekend. 🙂
I didn’t have any problem with the words, but the puzzle was a different story, and went off and did the Sudoku and the Crossword puzzles and came back and found the word ‘store’ the rest of it only took a few more minutes. I liked today’s puzzle not too easy but I was able to get it.

Hi! BEARER was my downfall, too, and I also had to exchange the “y” for an “e.” Today’s Phoenix forecast: high 65, low 43. The best corn here is Olathe, hand picked in Colorado, watered by melted snow, and available only in August. Just got back from some quick shopping and a leisurely lunch out; nice day for me.
