CARTOON ANSWER:

WHEN THE SQUIRREL COULDN’T GET THE WALNUT OPEN, HIS FRIEND WANTED —

ACKTRATICA = A CRACK AT IT

Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!  OUTBID and CANNED had me stumped for about a minute each ending my two days of speedy puzzle solving.  How do you feel about past tense words being used as anagrams?  We haven’t seen that many of them so I haven’t formed an opinion.  With all of the clue words solved, it was on to the cartoon.  At first glance of the clue letters I saw TRICK but it didn’t seem right.  It was after reading the sentence and dialogue that the answer became apparent and I filled in the correct words posthaste.  Looking at the cartoon, it seems like Jeff had the male squirrel trying to open the walnut from the bottom instead of the easier way of prying it open where the indentation is on top — a minor detail that was perfectly drawn!  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow.  πŸ˜€

  1. Good morning. Another easy one. Outbid took the most time. Fifteen seconds maybe. The complete puzzle was under two minutes. Hope this roll continues. My friends are coming back from Pennsylvania today. I’ll check later to see if she was able to get to it. Until tomorrow, stay well.

  2. Good morning! Seemed to me I was solving fast, final time 2:52; however, I am still half asleep. I thought the “not doing it right” squirrel was his wife. lol
Feb., big birthday month: Abe Lincoln, Arizona, your son & George Washington same date, my widowed friend who chose Italian food at the Olive Garden for her birthday lunch, and relatives.
    Have a great day!

    • Hi Lelia! I read “on this date” from the paper to Jake and he thought being born on the same day as George Washington was cool! I love Olive Garden — always a great meal. See you tomorrow!

  3. Good Morning all! My streak has slowed, considerably, today. Must be the cloudy day. Wishing and hoping for more of that glorious sunshine. Happy day to everyone.

  4. I either getter better at solving these puzzles or they are getting easier. Solved today’s puzzle in 2 minutes. Happy Wednesday everyone. Nice weather in Connecticut expected for the next few days

    • Great word choices this morning. Wish I was in FL for the kids Feb vacation but we’re planning something BIGGER later this year. Enjoy your Wednesday, Lana!

  5. I got the puzzle answer first today but like yo,u, Mike, had to take some time to unscramble canned and outbid. By the way, I finished the “Just Jumble” puzzle app and am eagerly awaiting an update. Downloaded David’s “Two Words” app which is fun and can be very challenging? Have you tried that one? I prefer the Jumble. Have a good day.

    • Hi Betty! I’m close to finishing the Just Jumble levels. I play it on my phone when I have spare time and am just over level 1,000. I am aware of the other game and tried it some time ago but it wasn’t for me. Take care and see you tomorrow! πŸ˜€

  6. Canned was a problem but the others came pretty easily as did the puzzle answer. Four days in a row in the 60’s & today is supposed to be the warmest day ever for this month – this is Feb. in WI!! It’s a bizarre scene – still little patches of snow here & there & people walking around in T’s & shorts. Forecast for the weekend: snow. 😊

  7. My husband said now they’ll think you nag because of laughing at what you thought was a nagging wife, so: husband thinks I don’t nag and I apologize for sounding like I do; however, when I check for food crumbs after he cleans the kitchen, I feel naggy. No comment necessary.
